Slatwall In Use In a Real Shop

Slatwall Panels have been around for a long time, and are a main-stay product for retail displays.
But many people do not know much about them. So we have created this page to let you know a little more about the product.

All of our Slatwall Panels are manufactured by us, right here in the UK from European grade 18mm MDF. If shopping around on other websites you may come across cheaper panels, but you should check whether they are made from European MDF or from lower quality imported Chinese MDF. European grade MDF is stronger and will last you much longer.

Slatwall as the name suggests is designed to be mounted on your walls. Then you select from our range of Slatwall Accessories for the right add-on for the products you want to display. We have a good range including Hat Hooks, Eurohooks, Acrylic Show Shelves, Bow Bumps, Clock Hooks and much more.
As mentioned we use 18mm thick MDF, this gives you a strong and durable product. The front finishes are available in plain matt colours or wood grain finishes. These are all melamine. We all know that melamine is a hard wearing finish and also makes our Slatwall Panels wipe-clean letting you easily keep them looking good in your shop.

We offer two main sized of Slatwall Panels. The most popular size we sell is 1200x1200mm (4 feet by 4 feet). These panels have 12 slots each spaced 100mm (4 inches) apart. This size of Slatwall Panel is cheaper to deliver, and much easier to install if you are doing the work yourself.
1200x1200mm Slatwall Panels weigh 18kg each.

The other main size of Slatwall Panel that we offer is 2400x1200mm (8 feet by 4 feet). This size of panel is great if you are looking to cover a large area in your shop with Slatwall as you get the most coverage using the smallest amount of panels. 2400x1200 Slatwall Panels are available in 2 different orientations. You have them 2400mm high by 1200mm wide. This orientation is known as ‘Portrait’ and will mean you have 23 slots each one spaced 100mm apart. The other orientation we can do is 1200mm high by 2400mm wide, this is known as ‘Landscape’ and will give you 12 slots along the width each one 2400mm long. Each 2400x1200 Slatwall Panel will weigh around 38kg.

We deliver all of our Slatwall Panels on pallets as this is the really the only practical way to deliver them nationwide. 2400x1200 size panels are more expensive to deliver as they require a large sized pallet. When ordering Slatwall Panels from us you may also wish to order Inserts, Accessories or some of our other great products. These will also be placed on the same pallet when packing to help you save on the costs of delivery.

  Installing Slatwall Inserts

We take a lot of orders over the phone during the day and we always ask “which colour inserts do you need?” when people are ordering Slatwall with us, we have noticed that many people do not understand what Slatwall Inserts are and what they do. So we thought we would write a little page to help explain.

Slatwall Panels have slots on them, these are what allow you to use hooks and arms or whatever Slatwall Accessories you use. These slots are cut right in to the MDF that the panel is made from and most Slatwall accessories are made from metal. So if you are using your Slatwall to display anything even slightly heavy your metal accessories can damage the slot on your Slatwall Panels. This is where you would use Slatwall Inserts.

Our Slatwall Inserts are available in coloured PVC Plastic or Aluminium. If you are using your Slatwall to display general items and nothing really heavy you will be ok to use the PVC ones, for heavy duty use or if you are looking for a premium finish you should use Aluminium ones.
Slatwall Inserts are simply 1200mm long strips that you insert in to the slots of your Slatwall panels. PVC and our ‘snap in aluminium’ inserts simply clip in to the front of slots on your Slatwall panels. The easy way to think about this is, get your Slatwall panels mounted on your wall, then take a piece of insert, line it up with a slot and push with your thumbs, it simply clicks in to place. We also do an Aluminium ‘T’ Section Insert. This is our strongest one and would need to be inserted into your Slatwall panels by sliding it in from the side, this is probably best done before mounting your panels on the wall. We sell our Slatwall Inserts in packs.
